Waitress UK & Ireland Tour

Sugar, Butter, Flour… and WOW. Last night I was lucky enough to go to the press night of the Waitress 10th Anniversary UK Tour at the New Wimbledon Theatre and honestly, it was as sweet as pie 🥧

I’d seen the pro-shot before, but seeing it live was a whole different slice of magic. The cast, the set and the onstage band were all incredible. It had me laughing one minute, sad the next and I left feeling completely uplifted.

The story follows Jenna (@carriehopefletcher), a waitress and pie-making genius, who with the help of fellow waitresses Dawn (Evelyn Hoskins) and Becky (Sandra Marvin), finds her way through some really tough situations. Their friendship felt so real, supportive and funny – and was the real heart of the show.

Picking a favourite song is basically impossible (there are too many good ones, thanks to the amazing Sara Bareilles), but Ogie’s (Dawn’s love interest played by Mark Anderson) ‘Never Ever Getting Rid of Me’ was laugh-out-loud funny. I also loved Dawn’s ‘When He Sees Me’, and of course Jenna’s ‘She Used to Be Mine’ was just WOW…

Speaking of Carrie, she was AMAZING (as a former Jane Banks, she is someone I really look up to). Jenna is such a big role – singing, acting and even making a pie on stage at the same time – a true masterclass! Also, shoutout to the adorable Lulu (Ellie Sheepwash and Magnolia Shaw-Powell) who completely stole our hearts 💛

Honestly, this show is the perfect mix – funny, emotional and totally feel-good. If you get the chance to see it, don’t think about it… just grab a slice and go ✨ The show is at the New Wimbledon Theatre @newwimbledontheatre until Saturday 4 April and continues to tour around the UK with Carrie Hope-Fletcher as Jenna until August. The show is recommended for ages 12+.

P.S. I also got to meet one of my heroes, @esmebowdler (Heathers and Mamma Mia – I have a dream fame) and the merch for this tour is out of this world, I wanted everything!
