I was invited to watch the cutest and most heartwarming performance of Six: Teen Edition at ArtsEd in Chiswick yesterday. The cast was made up of six girls aged just 8–10 who had travelled all the way from Shenzhen, China, and they were all incredible!
Every Queen was fabulous and brought so much energy, confidence and personality to the stage. Their singing, dancing and acting were all amazing, and it was hard to believe they were so young!
A special mention has to go to JoJo, who played Catherine Howard, she performed with so much confidence, and her vocals were outstanding and mature beyond her age. Rita, the Super Swing, who performed as Jane Seymour, also deserves a mention – her high note in Heart of Stone was absolutely incredible!
The costumes were brilliant, and the colourful hair and make-up finished off each Queen’s look perfectly.
What made the performance even more impressive was that English isn’t their first language. They performed with so much confidence and to such a high standard that you would never have guessed. I’m sure this won’t be the last time we see these girls on stage – I wouldn’t be surprised to see them all performing in the West End or on Broadway one day!
